Fluid Air

Session #2

Fluid Air has established itself as an innovator in developing equipment for the modification and creation of powders and particles, and provider of customized solutions to solid dosage process challenges across several industries including; pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, foods, fine chemical & cosmetics.

PolarDry® Electrostatic Spray Dryers can aid the Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical industry by producing small-scale samples with minimum product loss and making research of new products more efficient and cost-effective before committing to full-scale testing. PolarDry® utilizes electrostatic technology which drives water to the shell and active to the core, lowering the evaporation temperature and eliminating active ingredient loss, degradation, or denaturalization. Harnessing the electrostatic effect, the dispersed active driven into the core is microencapsulated, virtually eliminating surface active, resulting in stunning encapsulation efficiency.

In the PolarDry® process, liquid droplets are atomized and sprayed
into a stream of nitrogen drying gas. Then, heat is transferred from the drying gas to the liquid and powers the evaporation of the solvent. The solvent quickly migrates to the surface creating a liquid envelope around the particle to protect the active throughout the drying process. Once all the solvent has been evaporated, the result is a dry and no deteriorate, powdered material.

PolarDry® systems can process ingredients that include; API, proteins, microorganisms, bioactive materials, natural foods, antioxidants, CBD, microalgae, dietary supplements, fortified dairy products, essential oils, vitamins, herbals, and milk proteins. Such proven accountability is what the Powder Processing World has come to expect from Fluid Air, and through awards/organizations such as CFIA, ACHEMA, R&D 100, PharmaTech and the very prestigious CPhI Award for Excellence in Pharma: Manufacturing Technology and Equipment, as well as the Interphex Best Technological Innovation 2020.
